The first weekend in June, Mike and I, along with my sister and her hubs were able to drive over to NC to see the family! We had a great time with Mom and Rob eating dinner together, buying a grill for our grandparents and going to the Haw river to do some hiking rock hopping. The Dotson clan made it out without any wet feet which is typically a Pelon tradition. The other few weren’t so lucky. We all brought our dogs out there (Nikki, Grace, Avi and the newest addition, Becky) and they absolutely had a blast traversing the river, rocks and smelling everything in sight! Needless to say, they were dog tired by the end of our adventure. Here are a few pictures =)
At the end, we decided to get in the river a bit and cool off. The boys went body surfing down this little area of “white water.” The funny part is Mom’s dog Nikki would do it too! She would go to the top of the little rapid area and get it and surf down and get out and do it again! It was the funniest thing!

We had a really fun day. I promise Mike isn’t flexing for the picture. He had to run over to where we all were standing once he set the timer on the camera and it wasn’t the easiest.
Later, Mike and I went out and played some putt-putt with Megan and Justin! It was hot, so we enjoyed a nice ice cream treat afterwards. AND!! My best friend is getting married in a few months!!! YEAHH!
Also, we got to hang out with Jenny, my college roommate, for a little while and catch up as well as spend some quality time with Aunt Donna and Grammie at lunch on Sunday.
All in all, a very wonderful weekend =)
