that I had the weirdest dream last night!! I was grocery shopping and among other things in my basket were two heads of lettuce, one Romaine (in one of those nice green plastic veggie bags) and one iceberg (in the usual shrink wrap stuff). ((author’s comment… I don’t even like iceberg)) I checked out of the store only to find a million ants in the Romaine lettuce! There were even baby ants. The iceberg just had a few in it. I took my lettuces up to the manager and said…
THERE ARE ANTS IN MY LETTUCE
and he said, “there aren’t too many, it should be fine!” I would not accept this answer and told him that I wanted different heads of lettuce and he refused. I kept insisting and saying that if there were only a few ants in there, I would eat it but since there were a lot and there were even babies in there.. I was NOT going to eat it! ((here’s where the dream just keeps going around))
Thank goodness I woke up putting an end to the madness. And no there are no ants in the lettuce at the house right now (I checked).
Wow… as I’m typing out this odd dream of mine, I just realized where it came from. We got home from Clarksville Sunday night to find ants all over our kitchen counter and all in my wonderful farmers market honey! I was so sad. Hubs said, “I think we can get the ants out.” So we proceeded to put the honey through a wire mesh strainer. Most came out, only leaving a few ant legs floating in the good as new honey and about 5 stragglers that made it through the strainer. I just threw it out!
Here’s to hoping the next dream will not include insects =)
Oh no!!! Ants are the absolute worst. Has Mike ever told you about the fire ant nest we stepped in when we were little, in Florida? I just saw the picture of us "recovering" the other day and had a good laugh.
ReplyDeleteI'm not sure I've heard the fire ant story. My brother stood in one accidentally... not a pretty picture =(
